Talented, extra-ordinary, jovial, likable, dedicated and dependable; qualities that comes to mind at the mention of our next Dav-Oz Motivational Icons Honourary Awardee.
Talking about this young man stirs up a lot of emotions in me because I would never want to forget him in a second. I and Mr. Olisa go as far back as 2008/9. We met in our Junior Secondary School, Grade 7. He got into the school later than other fresh students but on his first day, he had already started gaining authority as though he had been in school for long.
We immediately clicked and as soon as you knew it, we became close friends. I mean, most of my memories in that school had Mr. Olisa in them.
One of the things hardly missed about Mr. Olisa is his resolve to never back down from an argument. At that age, Mr. Olisa had already started making use of dictionary words in his arguments. It’s no wonder he eventually went on to study law in the University.
It was through Mr. Olisa that I seriously took the singing path of my life into consideration. Mr. Olisa’s voice is heaven to behold, full of life and sweetness. He had gone on to lead various music group including the Choir unit in his church in school, the Ablaze music crew etc.
I don’t say it often but Mr. Olisa is one of the reason my interest in fashion grew. In my junior secondary school days, he was my first audience. Whenever I drew on paper, he was the first I showed and despite how bad I was then, he’d always compliment me. He still compliments me to this day on everything I set out to do.
There are a lot to say about this young gentleman but time won’t be enough. He really is someone I would never ever forget in a hurry. That’s why it’s no mistake he’s one of the DOMI Award recipient this year.
