DRAINED (A Poem) by Nnamdi Dixon Onuoha

Under the smile;
Sorrows of a thousand miles.
Depression, ego defiled,
Ruled out like a rejected file.

Tears, you are broken.
The beast have been awoken.
Sold out for a little token,
But you manage to smile, broken.

Thoughts of Suicide sets in
Your heart becomes busy like an inn.
“You aren’t good enough”, they complain.
So you try to end it prompt and plain.

Let me introduce you to Mr Wisdom,
Protects your sanity, no be condom.
You can make mistake and still have your freedom.
Cos in you is a potential to save your kingdom.

Life could be hard, but it’s not worth taking.
If you get drained, there is water for your living.
Even when men write you off,
Jesus the living water will show you love.
