Something happened today that broke my heart. I have always heard this story but I couldn’t believe things like this happened until today.
I was in the reception when I heard voices from one of the rooms, the tempo increased gradually until I could clearly hear them. I could tell they were screaming and yelling. I wanted to call and inform the occupants of the room that they were disturbing other guests but I wasn’t sure of the particular room, so I decided to go and check out the room. When I got to the second floor of the building, I noticed the voices became louder. Then I traced it to room 215. Now this is the beginning of my story.
The violence in the room was dense, the lady screamed and cried out like she was choking for breath. I quickly rushed down to alert the security department, then rushed back to the crime scene, feeling like a detective.
As soon as I knocked on the door, I heard the sound of a crash and smash, then I whispered to myself, “e don happen”. I knocked louder,
“You must pay for damages o” I shouted.
The door opened and I looked at the two, each of them had sustained serious injuries. The boy had a big cut on his hand while the girl had bruises on her face. I looked around and saw that the table in the room had lost a leg, the mirror and some bulbs were smashed into pieces, the white bedsheet had blood stains all over it, the frame in the room was broken and the whole room had been turned upside down.
“What is the problem?”, I finally asked.
“Not your business. Just having a lil ish with my girlfriend”, the guy replied.
Four things struck me; “girlfriend”, “lil ish”, “not my business” and the guts. Just in time, four security men arrived.
“Are you paying cash or do you want to transfer?” I asked with this excitement that was even strange to me.
“Hey dude can’t you see I’m bleeding? I need First Aid” the guy replied.
“Oga, it’s not my business. Our properties are bleeding too, I need the money firsthand.” I said with my eyes wide open.
“Please Sir, have a little human compassion, we are really sorry” the lady chipped in.
At this point, the way I felt changed. I looked at the boy, then the girl, then the security men.
“Please lock them up until they are ready to pay for damages”.
