To me, there is good and bad; above all, I choose to be good.
Ancient philosophers believe that religion is a lifestyle coined to control its victims. Some say it was created to curb evil – they call it “sin”, just to maintain order.
These are just beliefs, and it’s a very savvy motive if you ask me.
“I believe in God. As for me, I and my household shall serve the Lord”.
But these series of questions keep hanging around for me to ponder; what is your take on things happening in the world today? How do you see atheists? Do you believe “love is love”? What about the traditional system of worship passed down by our forefathers? Would you rather burn the thief to death with a tire around his neck in the street than wait for proper justice? Are you as a sinner judging other sinners just for sinning differently? Religion has eaten deep into our sanity.
I see so many Christians with their holier-than-thou attitude, the council of Deputy Jesus. Their job is to judge, hate and discriminate. Just because they feel the other person’s lifestyle does not synchronize with theirs. They are racist, bigots and homophobes. So you are that type, you return back home and pray to the Bible, justifying your bigotry with faith, deeming yourself better than everyone else because you play some gospel songs every morning to keep you going.
A man recently was killed by a Muslim in a gas station in the US because the man was supposedly “voguing” according to the tweet I saw. Apparently, that dance move was inappropriate to the Muslim’s religion so he went on and stabbed the man. So I ask myself, “Is murder not inappropriate?”.
Disclaimer: these are just instances, there are still better Christians and Muslims who would rather not condemn others but show love to them, understanding that it’s not their duty to judge.
There is sin and there is crime; we should always learn to differentiate the two. I have said this before in my tweet. https://twitter.com/chineduherbert_/status/1630590323482144769?s=46&t=ofXY_XR0NFz6wATkRKiXGQ
Let us as humans choose to be good. But let us also be considerate and compassionate towards other people. Let us understand when someone’s logic doesn’t go with ours; teach, but learn too. Your belief doesn’t automatically make you always right. Love and do good.
I choose not to be inhuman just to prove my faith. Even when we have our secret sins, we come out in the open to condemn others for doing the same thing you do in secret or judge them for sinning differently.
This is my very sensitive stand in this piece; CHOOSE GOOD NATURE OVER FAITH and trust me, I stand firmly to be corrected.
