Peanut butter stew is one of the easiest stew to make and it won’t cost much of your time.
Peanut butter is made from groundnut or peanut seed which is highly rich in protein, fat and fibre and they are all important for body building.
Ingredients for Preparing Peanut Butter Stew
Peanut paste
Chicken
Seasoning
Fresh pepper
Onions
Bouillon cubes
Cooking oil
Ginger
Garlic
Turmeric
Green bell pepper
Salt to taste.
Preparation
- Wash the chicken with clean water thoroughly and rinse to remove dirt.
- Put the washed chicken in a clean cooking pot; add your seasoning, fresh pepper, turmeric, ginger, garlic, bouillon cubes and salt to taste and mix together
- Put the mixed chicken on medium heat and allow to steam for a few minutes then add little water enough to make the chicken tender (don’t add much water because you don’t need the chicken stock).
- When the chicken becomes tender, turn off the heat and remove the chicken from the chicken stock.
- Cut the chicken into a smaller pieces and set aside
- On a medium heat, place a pot and pour in cooking oil. Allow to heat for a few seconds then add the onions, fresh pepper, and green bell pepper. Allow to fry till the aroma comes up.
- Add the peanut paste and allow to fry for 20-25minutes.
- Add the chopped chicken and stir all together. Make sure the chicken is well mixed with other ingredients.
- Turn off the heat and your peanut butter stew is ready to eat!!!
NB: it can be served with white rice, fried or steamed yam, steamed or boiled potatoes and pasta.
